I got a lot of calls from this number and at first they had a very bad mouth. I called the back after they called me today telling me that they was going to have me put in jail in the morning if I did not send them all my bank info. they also so told my that I only had 3 hours to do this and they did not care if the bank was not open. So I called my bank to see if I had any money put in my account by a payday loan place and they told me no and then we talked for some time and they told me this is a scam and that the calls come over the net by computer and they are coming from India or some place over there. But it is a scam and I will tell everyone that looks this number up don't do as they tell you please you will be out the money and never see it again.

I received a call from an "attorney" at 713-370-7392 who called himself Julian Marshall.  He said that I had received a check from Instacash.usa for $500 in the mail and that there were 3 counts against me for not paying it back.  He said if I don't pay $949.29 within an hour, the fee would go up to $5400.  He gave me the phone # of 607-795-7354 for instacash. I spoke with "Roger Fetch" who stated that I cashed the check at Walmart.  They had all of my information, all of it.I was referred back to the "attorney". I called the attorney back who advised that they are going to have a warrant issued for my arrest tomorrow if I don't pay. I have reported this to the sheriff and my attorney.  These people are middle eastern and very hard to understand.  I am also going to the state attorney's office.

Second time they called me on my work phone number, which I never give out either. They also told me that if I didn't return the call, then the only thing he could do for me was to wish me good luck as the situation badly enforces me (?). Told me his name was Alan Marshall. The first time someone similar called with a thick Indian accent, the name was Will Smith. Also, the first time, I asked him to give me their address. He gave some bogus address in California and when I asked him the zip code. His reply was 717.....So I don't think these calls are coming from within the States, but from people that are outside the country or at least don't live here, as all zip codes should have 5 digits.I already put an alert out on my social security number and notified my bank. I will now also take it to police to file a claim against them.

I also got a phone call last night from this number. I couldn't understand anything he was saying and I was really busy so I hung up on him. He kept calling back. He called back about 5 times within a 3 minute period. I finally had to turn my phone off. He called back again this morning and told me that there have been files charged against my name and SSN. He couldn't tell me anything except that it was time sensitive and that I needed to call his senior attorney Mike Anderson right away from this # at ext. 121. When I called I got a voicemail that belonged to someone else with a completely different name. I decided to google Mike Anderson and found this. I'm glad I did.

I hung, he hasnt called back and now I will just ignore the call. I owe nothing like this at all .They play on fear and so many will actually give them the money and for nothing, so sad.

I recieved about 20 calls from these people in the past 5 days. They said that the State Supreme Court in NY was suing me for not paying back some payday loan. I asked when the loan was taken out, blah blah blah. They said that my county sheriff is going to come and fly me to NY to appear before the court. I asked if I could see the Statue of Liberty and Times Square while I was in NY, and the guy got pissed. He said "May God help you" if you dont WIRE them 1000.00 by tommorrow. I asked if my airline ticket could be taken out of the 1000.00. The guy said that its not a joke. I told him i know its not a joke, that he seriously can go jump off the Brooklyn Bridge for all I care. He sat there silent for like 2 minutes and said that I was going to be sorry, and to remember the Indian Name MIKE JONES. I asked if I could speak to Bob Elliot, Dwayne Wade, or Amare Stoudamire instead, and he hung up. Have fun with these clowns!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... 16512428&page=1http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2012/08/bgm.shtm

Do NOT verify your social, name, address, etc. ******I FIRST RECEIVED A CALL FROM 713-370-7392 INFORMING ME TO CALL MIKE ANDERSON AT 607-795-7354********

I just received a call on my job (we are not supposed to receive personal calls) which is a number that I never give out.  He had a very think accent and said that I needed to give his senior attorney Mike Anderson a call at that number and extension 121.  He said my case was going court tomorrow and that I needed to call this Mike Anderson right away and that it was time sensitive.  He would not tell me who was sueing me, just that I had to call right away, within two hours.  He said his name was Ricky Anderson and he was told by the senior attorney to call me.  He asked if I had an attorney and that he had been told to get my attorney's information.  I took down the number but gave him no information.  I googled his number and saw comments/reports from others with a similar experience.  I will call my attorney and let them handle it.  I do not plan to call this Mike Anderson at all.  I've received no paperwork and I think it is a scam.

Uuhh, what "10 day cease and desist"? Nothing like that is available to a person under federal law. Moreover, a debt validation request and a full-on cease-communication notice are mutually exclusive! Either you want to allow contact or you don't. Now to review your real options when FSA calls:- If any third party collection agency says you owe something, be sure to respond on real paper to its federally required dunning letter with a dispute and validation request. Given the industry's documented need to break laws to get at your assets, you should dispute even if you agree slightly with the debt claim. The agency can't make a peep regarding the debt account until that request is satisfied.- You also have control of when, where, and how you are contacted. Your dispute notice may add a request to limit phone calls to certain hours, days and/or numbers. You can declare ''all calls are inconvenient''. The agency legally *must* obey. Be certain one ''convenient'' channel is open, such as a postal address, else the agency or creditor will be pressured to sue you to collect. - If the account cannot legally be collected, or it's simply not you the agency wants, you're free to send a full ''cease-communication'' notice, cutting off all contact. Indicate which phone numbers and addresses are off-limits. You're not giving away anything the agency can't already know or find. USPS Certified with return card is sufficient to obtain unassailable proof of receipt, which you will want if whatever your letter says is ignored. If that happens, sue the offender, then file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general. Don't just whine and wait for a rescue. You only get a year to seek relief on FDCPA claims.

A really important point is that a court case force a person to pay for a debt twice, because the person or company she paid the debt back to DID NOT OWN the debt or have the authority to settle it for someone else, so if you can pay a debt, be certain you verify all aspects of the debt ownership first, starting with the company you owed in the first place.  You will no credit for the payments if you pay the wrong company.Sometimes debt collectors actually purchase a group of debts.  At other times they are merely hired to annoy you into paying up and the debt is still owed to the original creditor.

This is a clear misunderstanding.  No one can involuntarily collect any money from you without a 2 step process after you have been supenaed by a server.  The first step is to determine if you in fact have a debt.  If your the state judge agrees you do owe the money, even then no collection can take place until a judge in a separate proceeding determines how much you can afford.  The maximum is where I live and I think nationally is 25% of you after living expenses disposable income or 50% if you owe the federal government.  A federal banking regulation also prevents any claims on you bank account befpre you have in the account more than twice your monthly living expense.  Many thing are exempted and not counter at all, such as Social Security or welfare benefits.  My state exempts all pension income for example, not just Social Security as long as the IRS recognizes the account as a pension account or regular payments from a pension.  If you case is one of the small proportion of cases that even goes to court, be absolutely certain to apply for all of your exemptions in the time allowed.  If you don't think you can do it, hire and attorney for either advice or representation, but he or she will need this information since they can't read your mind. Attorneys only know what you tell them, but there are serious consequences for lying.

I first did it with our phoneas alone by giving those silent ringers on one model and a message of silence on the other model. our income totally comes from exempt sources and 2) Don't answer any unfamiliar out of state calls. With a cell phone all you have to do is identify numbers important to you and they will appear by name.not unexpected out of state telephone numbers.3) Don't answer private or unknown callers unless you are expecting a return call from a doctor on call to decide if you should go to the ER or an urgent care clinic. Some may be able to report to your caller id the business number of the clinic, which is okay, but you can't count on that unless you verify before an emergency.  Each group of doctors does their own thing.\to block.  I actually do the same thing with my cell phone. If you have a land line phone, this may cost you extra, but if you have a cell phone it may not.  If you have an android phone you can furthest is grouping calls. Unexpected and unwanted calls I check with http://800notes.com and only call back if the number comes up with nothing.

They call everyday asking for someone who is not at this number.  I have had my number for several years.  They got my name off the answering machine because I have a small home run business.  So if they don't get the person they want, they have called back 1 minute later saying, "hello (my name)".  i don't yell at people, I don't like it; however, I have yelled at them.  They call while my baby is napiping, and when I school my kids.  They call early in the morning and later in the evening.  I have threatened to sue them for harassment, asked them to  take my number off their list, talked to 'supervisors'.  They still call. It has been going on for months now.  As soon as the weekends over I am taking them to the bureau.

this number calls me twice a day, every day, about "a business matter". yes they are holding the note on one of my credit cards, along with three other agencies. i really am tired of having to excuse myself at work to hang up my cell phone.

Report this information to you State Attorney General, not here.  Once they identify you as not the person they don't have the right to call you again, as long as you follow the legal procedure.  They even violate collection practices laws serious if they even tell you your son is in debt.  You otherwise collected the right information.

For months now, I have been receiving calls from different phone numbers from this outfit,  A couple of the other numbers is 716-213-4578 and 716-564-4905.  They are calling for my son who I kicked out of the house a few years ago and have not seen or heard from since.  When I explain this to them, they say they will take my number off their records but I have received the next call from this firm a half hour later.  Regarding, 716-564-4370, calls were received on 7/21,7/23, 7/28 and 8/2.  Normally, they do not answer, but today, they said "Please Hold" twice fairly close together, then "Goodbye" without even trying to communicate with me.  These appear to be nothing but harrassing phone calls.  I am fed up with them.

I got the same call from the Federal Legislature of Unsecured Loans described like the ones here. I got a call from a lady supposedly named "Guy" who spoke in a heavy Indian accent claiming that I owe $4000.00 dollars from a loan from 2007 which they supposedly deposited in my bank account. I disputed this with him and told him I will send bank documents to prove that I never took out a loan with this company. He then proceeded to read off a list of things I am supposedly charged with, he mentioned Theft By Deception and Money Laundering (How ridiculous, who would be laundering money for $4000.00??).I requested that these charges be sent to me in writing and also requested that he send a copy of the loan agreement he claimed they have. He said they couldn't send them. Any company refusing to back up their claim and send something in writing is NOT LEGITIMATE!! He said that I was going to Jail and then he hung up one me. I then hung up and requested a Supervisor and was transfered to "Susan". She then told me she would see what "her attorney" could do. She said what amount am I willing to send them so that we can fix this issue.  I again requested that they send everything to me in writing to give to my attorney, he then said he couldn't send anything. I tried calling the number back and got the loud noise that you hear when you call a fax line. These people are trying to run some sort of scam!! DO NOT give them any money!!1. If there are any formal charges against you, you will be served in writing, not with a ridiculous phone call.2. If you defaulted on a loan with ANYONE, you would be contacted in writing within a few months of default and given a time period in which to respond and make payment arrangements,  they will not contact you YEARS after a loan agreement supposedly took place.3. If they claim the loan was sent by electronic funds into your bank account, they would have taken back payment the same way they sent it to you...electronically!! If the funds were not in the bank, they would have taken it anyway and you would be overdrawn and which case you would have to repay the bank. The bank would then notify you, not the company. Please beware of these people, do not let them scare you into sending them money by threatening you by trying to use legal terms and telling you that you need to have bail money ready and that you need to go to court.

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-714-333-2981This is just another one of hundreds (and perhaps even thousands) of numbers these overseas payday loan debt collection scammers are calling from:http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-904-425-9141:It's a scam, and all their threats are false and illegal.  The bottom line is, these are criminals trying to steal consumers' money. Here are a few news reports and government advisories warning consumers about this scam:ABC News:  http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=5621205&page=1West Virginia Attorney General:  http://www.wvago.gov/internetloanscam.cfmWTAE TV4, Pittsburgh:  http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/call4action/17285785/detail.htmlFlorida Commissioner of Consumer Services:  http://www.800helpfla.com/newsletter/2008/092008.htmlThis is a very active group of scammers, many of whom are calling from India (and probably other countries) and are in cahoots with a group of American pay day loan scammers. They attempt to extort money from consumers with a myriad of false and illegal threats, and alternately pose as debt collectors, federal and state law enforcement officers, lawyers and bankers. Their trademark is to use meaningless legalese gobbylgook phrases like "We are downloading warrants against you" or "We are filing an affidavit against you." Another trademark phrase is to threaten the consumer with something like this ridiculous phrase: "If you don't pay then only God can help you."Typical of many financial scams of this variety, they usually demand payment via Western Union or MoneyGram or credit card. They use any number of phony names such as US National Bank, Federal Investigation Bureau, US Legal Investigation Bureau, Christian Nicholas & Associates, US Federal Bank, Sonic Bank, Hopkins Law Office, CashNet, United Legal Processing, Morgan Associates, United Pay Services, National Processing, White Collar Crime Unit and many more.  These criminals also use many phone numbers from many area codes; they're probably using caller-id spoofing software and/or VoIP to disguise their real location. The main thing to remember is that anytime someone calls you demanding money to prevent your arrest, or demanding your lawyer's name so they can sue you, it is ALWAYS a scam. No debt collector (let alone criminals posing as debt collectors) has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything. (And it's illegal to them to threaten such a thing.) And since these foreign dirtbags routinely impersonate law enforcement, it's also important to remember that American law enforcement officers aren't in the business of debt collection.  (Debt is a civil, not a criminal, matter.)A consumer posting a complaint about these same scammers at http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-718-831-7157 notes that 718-831-7157 is associated with an India-based "outsourcing" telephone bank.  Though a reverse search on WhitePages.com shows that 718-831-7157 is an unlisted land line in New York City, information on Debtbuyers.Com shows that that number is used by India-based Intellisourze. (Source: http://www.debtbuyers.com/debtbuyers.asp ) My guess is that it's a VoIP phone number. This is another piece of the puzzle that fits in perfectly with other information about this scam. There are some reports on 800Notes that have suggested that the crooks behind this offshore scam are also the crooks behind the notorious Bass/Ellis Crosby & Assoc./States Predisposition scams in Florida and Georgia. The interesting thing is that the number of complaints on here about the US National Bank/US Legal Investigation/Federal Investigation scam skyrocketed *after* April 7, 2008 when Florida obtained a $1.3 million judgment against Ted Ellis Crosby, shutdown his operations and barred him from ever conducting debt collections in Florida (http://myfloridalegal.com/newsrel.nsf/newsrel ... 5257424005858A6 )  There's certainly a good chance that the crooks placing these calls from India are doing so on behalf of the American crooks behind the Crosby/Bass/States Predisposition scams. Here's the contact information for the phone bank in India:IntellisOurzE BPO701, Sapphier, Nr. INDIA.E-Mail: info@intellisourze.comWebsite: www.intellisourze.comA check on the domain name "intellisourze.com" shows that the website and name registration was created on May 8, just one month *after* the Crosby scams were shut down in Florida:Domain Name: INTELLISOURZE.COMRegistrant:  Pragra Infratech Pvt. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.2) Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov  Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.3) File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.4) File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org5) File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=enIf these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)By the way, here's just a *small* sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-336-553-3965http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-909-6789http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-925-262-1327http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-678-954-6346http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-341-4004http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-856-831-0640http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-949-743-1140http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-410-505-8128http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-917-464-2534http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-210-858-6602http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-775-2121http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-310-909-8245http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-949-743-1156http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-214-245-1402http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-214-245-0922http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-214-723-5572http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-904-425-2863http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-718-831-7157http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-904-425-2857http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-858-244-0444...and, many, MANY more.

Upon pressing 1, it connected me to an alleged rep. I asked his name and he introduced himself as Matt. Immediately, I followed up by making an inquiry about the name of the business he was calling from -- he hung up promptly. When you call back at this number (334)-245-2345, it says the number is disconnected which is a lie. What they've done is that any incoming call to this number is answered by an automated machine imitating the oft-heard "disconnected" message you normally hear on legitimately disconnected numbers. From what I've read online, this seems to be a credit fraud/scam. Avoid at all cost.I also would like to know how to report them and to whom.

People send them a validation request and a cease and desist letter. While they won't adhere to the 10 day cease and desist phone call communication, they have to if its in writing. If they don't turn your letter, registered mail (return receipt) green card and your phone records with their annoying phone calls highlighted over to the FTC for prosecution.

I doubt the no call list will do you any good.  Callers who have a relationship with you within the last year have the right to call you, as to politicians to my recollection. That of couse doesn't compell you to answer.  We have caller ID, which is also available on alternative phone services without extra charges, such as Google Voice and the various other non-traditional phone services like Vonage. I suggest you try what I just suggested to another person on or near this page.

The best choices are.1) Use call blocking from you phone or cell phone carrier.

Follow the direction you local court gives you and precomplete the petition for exempttions.  Also look up you state debt collector regulations.  a lot of people brand new to the business or simply ignorant don't adhere to the law, but going to court yourself can put them effectively out of business pretty quickly if they are undercaptitalized to deal with suits against them.  One woman advocate makes a steadly income by sueing debt collectors who break any part of the laws regulating their industry..

Talk to your phone service provider or follow the information provided by you state attorney general or court system regarding debt collection, garnishment, etc.  A properly sent letter  by certified mail with return receipt I believe is what is necessary to make them stop calling.  They are calling about a debt either you owe or they have the wrong phone number.  In either case there are state and federal laws that protect you from harassment.  The initial quiet period is probably an automated phone system waiting to connect you to a real person.  You other option is to pay to change your phone number, but you might in this economy just wind up being called for someone else's debts.

report callers who are harrassing you to first your phone company and then to you state's Attorney General.  Each state has it'c own licensing of collection agencies, and what you have described violates the national and state laws governing collection agencies.  You can also collect fines of in our state $500 per call in excess of the minimum permitted or directed by your written instruction.  The problem though may be in trying to collect the judgement.  The big debt collection firms know the law.a nd generally follow it, but anyone can apply to be a debt collector and they learn best through judgments against them.  $500 state fines or $1,000 federal fines can teach anyone.  If you do the taking to court, you keep the money yourself.

these people call all day long, first thing in the morning to  very late in the evening, they do not care, they do not even talk or say anything, they are definetely harassing for no reason, I do not even know how they got my number, nor why they call. THEY CALL EVERYDAY AND ALL DAY FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS AT LEATS, WITH NO STOP. I EVEN PUT THEM IN THE NO CALL LIST, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO, TO STOP CALLING.

I get calls from them for someone who hasn't had this phone number in two years, I know because that's how long I've had the number. I did speak with someone at a call center in India and asked to have the number removed, and I've asked them a number of times, with no results. After I got irritated with the call center guy in India they've significantly increased the calling. They are definitely harassment calls.

We get these calls ALL the time - sometimes several per day. And even when I select the option to speak to someone about this, nothing happens. How can they be making any money at this? My wife did manage to speak to a live person once, and asked that we be removed from the list, but the calls keep coming - probably from multiple sources, is my guess. How do we get these stopped? We're even on the national "no call" list - doesn't seem to matter.

I was called today, again by someone telling me my auto warranty was about to expire. When I pushed the prompt to speak to someone, I said, " Do not hang up on me like you always do, I want to speak to a supervisor." They got quiet, I could hear them still on the line. 30 seconds pass and click. Last time they called they asked what the make/model/year of my vehicle was....I replied with, "if you know my warranty is about to expire, then you should already have that information." And they hung up. I have asked them to stop calling several times. They won't. I did *69 to get the number.
