I just received the same call from Ian Khan, 678-218-8527.  Not knowing, but skeptical, I scheduled an appointment for next week.  Thanks to all for posting the warnings about this scam.  I'm tempted to text him back and let him know what a jerk he is!

Can't beleive what I am reading....I am the latest casualty of a call from Ian Khan.  I too became excited at the opportunity, but there was something that troubled me about the call.  I keep a journal of all the companies I've applied to - Priamerica sounded odd.  I inquired as to how they got my number and was told that a "friend" refered me.  I investigated that statement and found that not one of my friends knew or had even heard about the company.  Following my gut instincts I asked whether this was a sales position to which he replied "no, there are several entry-level positions and other managerial positions to be filled."  This is extremely dishonest and misleading to say the least!!!  I'm glad I researched everything before - the call I received was deliberately misleading.  I too was promised a text to confirm the address....so glad I took all pre-cautionary measures before I followed through.  Many thanks to those who took the time to write these thread of comments!!!

Just received a voice mail from Ian Khan, 678-218-8527, about full/part-time opportunities at Primerica (he said he was a "Regional Manager"). I was excited at first because I'd applied for a position at PriMEDIA, and I thought that's what he said. On repeated listenings to the msg., I realized it was PriMERICA, and I'd never applied for a job with them. Thank you Google, and thanks to everyone here for tipping me off to this scam. It's tough enough looking for a better job without these losers calling us.

Angelee Eubanks 678.852.2465. Stopped me in Wal Mart to let me know that her company was expanding. She stated that she would give me a call about the company, so that I could finish shopping. I missed her call and called her back. She barely remembered me, but was quick to set up an interview. When I asked what was the company name she stated that it would be explained in the interview. The address that she gave me was 3805 Crestwood Parkway, Duluth, GA 30096 suite 100. I found Primerica on Google. But I also found this page. Thanks guys!

I also got a call from Ian Khan offering me a chance to join Primerica in a fulltime position.  I found it odd that he sent me a text of the information to use when I got to the Duluth office for an informational company session.  Who does that?  It made me think about google-ing the phone number and finding out about the company before I went.  Good thing.  I was supposed to go this Friday at 11am.  I DON'T THINK SO. This time his number was 678-218-8527 - a private cell phone number.  Shouldn't corporate recruiting come from a corporate number, not a cell phone!

I recieved a call from Ian Khan.  He had information on me,  I had had some work done on my mouth and couldn't get out the house for an interview, he rescheduled it.  I was doing some research on the company Pss or Pfs and couldn't find anything except for prime america.  I know that i didn't apply for prime america because i have had dealings with them in the past.  I left a message for him to call me.  Because of the information you privided, if i don't get a call back, i will not go.  I don't have time to waste gas and money on something that isn't real.  8/29/11

I received a call today about a job offer at some company (P- something) but the lady was speaking very quickly and the only things I understood was the address and what time to arrive for interview; but she did slow down a bit, to tell me that they offer training so if i didnt have experienced.....that it was okay; that the company provides great training and to let the receptionist know who i was there to see..... her name is Artia Hawkins; i know i have not applied for any position with the company because i dont even know the company's name and if its insurance i know im not about to be bothered with it. So thanks ladies for the research and answers; because i googled the address and you'll reviews popped up.

Yes, they do make cold-calls. They're in the business of sales and marketing so I'm almost positive that if you've applied for something (even if you know for sure it didn't say "PSF") they may be responsible for it. Another thing that people need to be aware of: if you have friends or family who go out to these types of recruitment's, a lot of times, the contractors who are looking to "build their personal teams" (as I mentioned in my previous post), will have them compile a list of "possible people who may be interested in becoming a part of Primerica" (whether it be to "join the team" or to enroll in ant type of coverage). Your friend or family gets duped into making their jobs a whole lot easier by supplying them with prospects to solicit. There are many tricks marketers pull so you've got to use your better judgment in deciphering what's what when it comes to the job market--more than ever before. If I could make a living off of calling these people and many others out on their B.S., I sure as heck would make a killing from it:-)

Googleisyourfriend: Have you ever heard of them cold-calling people? I got a call a few minutes from a "Diane" something or other from "PSF" about supposed job opportunities with them. I've never replied to any ad in anything, print or online, for a "PSF." Do they just call people out of the blue? At any rate, I was immediately suspicious when she only called me by my first name, and I didn't divulge any info. All she got from me was a sorry, I don't recognize either your name or the name of your company...

Unless you're interested in trying to sell life insurance as an independent contractor...DO NOT GO! I received a call as well and upon Googling the address, I discovered it's for PRIMERICA! You can research them and figure it out for yourself but I was suckered into attending one of their sessions a while back at another location and they expect for you to sit through a boring presentation about how you can make millions--YEAH RIGHT--but the catch is, you'll need to pay $100 to "JOIN". GTFOH! In today's economy, kids can't even sell candy bars like they use to, so what makes these idiots think that a person can make a  profit from selling insurance to people who are barely getting by! 1st clue...you don't receive a call from the actual OFFICE line...2nd clue: You're not given the full name of the company (instead it's--PFF, PPP, P-whatever)...3rd clue: you're told that you'll be attending a "GROUP" informational session or interview.  These "callers", who are independent contractor, post ads in order to act as if "the company is hiring" when in fact, they make money by recruiting you to their team if you JOIN (you're NOT actually hired) and you then, at some point, will eventually have to put together your own team in order to make some type of profit. Smart idea by these SCAMMERS but DON'T BE FOOLED by this...I can't make it any clearer and I hope my rant helps. I need a job ASAP, but I refuse to fall into these types of traps.

There are at least two options for those bothered by people originating these offensive calls:1. Go to www.fcc.com and click on the electronic complaint form, filling out each of the entries (takes about two minutes), identifying the date and time of the unwanted call(s), any identifying information from Caller ID ("Unavailable" is a valid entry), your number where the call was received and your name, street and email addresses. The FCC will immediately respond with an email to you, identifying the file number assigned to your complaint. If everyone filed these complaints to the FCC, that deluge will prompt an investigation and likely a fine on the calling party.2. I followed a recommendation from a comment listed elsewhere on 800Notes, where that person was extremely frustrated over calls from a number different than 509-293-3262 (as the above folks obviously are) and purchased a DIGITONE Call Blocker from www.digitone.com Three features attracted my interest: a) I now can block up to 80 specific telephone numbers, b) This device has "First Ring Supression." meaning that you will not even hear the first ring!!, c) you can block entire area codes, a feature that can be used to block all 800, 866, 877, etc. numbers or those from specific (not toll-free) numbers. There may be other devices available, too. I saw immediate success with the one I purchased.Silence can be Golden!!Even so, I regularly report annoying/illegal/robo calls, etc. to the FCC. Now that I also use the DIGITONE device these annoying calls have been greatly reduced in number.

They will charge thousands of dollars on your credit card without performing any services. Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems. The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot. For anyone thinking of using Special Information Tones (or as they're called in the industry SIT tones) to fake a non working phone number, they won't work. Since around 2001-2002, the costs of digital business lines have dropped dramatically, along with Voice over IP (Internet) telephone service. Neither of these use the SIT tones as the call information is carried separate from the audio. This separate call information tells the calling party digitally if the call was answered, busy, voice mail, forwarded, rejected, etc. This renders SIT tones useless. Also the TeleZapper products that used to be on the market used this method as well, and were rendered ineffective for the same reasons. It is also through this separate call information message that the spoofed caller ID information is transmitted.Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls/  http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2012/07/robocall.shtm http://transition.fcc.gov/cgb/policy/TCPA-Rules.pdfCheck here first to see if it is one of their phone numbers:http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.comPacific Telecom Communications GroupFollow JD's recommendations in the blog and stop them at the source. Many of the disposable numbers come from Pacific Telecom Communications Group and they are currently under investigation and in the midst of various lawsuits. (The principles involved have been part of actions by the FCC under other business names). These businesses have ripped people off for millions of dollars, yet have paid only a couple of thousand dollars in fines. The only way to stop them is to throw them in prison for a few years to make this criminal activity less attractive. The Oregon Public Utilities Commission has revoked Pacific Telecom's certificate to provide telecom services in Oregon. The Indiana Attorney General’s Office filed lawsuits against:Consumer Credit Group and Proactive Planning Solutions of Arizona for violating Indiana’s Do Not Call Law and Auto-Dialer Act known as the robo-call law. Both companies violated the Credit Service Organization Act and Deceptive Consumer Sales Act by not obtaining $25,000 surety bonds with the state and collecting money upfront without performing any services.Debt Zero of California for collecting money up front, failing to provide services or a refund and operating without a $25,000 surety bond.Clear One Advantage of Maryland and Credit Arbitrators of Texas for violating the Credit Service Organization Act and the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act by not obtaining the required surety bonds.http://www.in.gov/activecalendar/EventList.as ... ation_id=107077Arkansas sues robocallers:http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2012/aug/0 ... arketing-firms/Missouri sues robocallers:http://www.legalnewsline.com/news/236974-kost ... nies-over-callsProof that current laws mean nothing to these scum suckers, these same people under different companies have been sued in the past and have only paid a minimal fine. Yes Buckles and Buckles like others are in the collections business.  The number is for the Michigan office in Birmingham,   Collections relies on intimidation, harassment, and humiliation, but you can stop this.  There is help for you.  If you have a counter claim and can afford a visit to a lawyer, do so.  If you are one of the Great Recession's poor or just need a reference to a lawyer and or have no money to defend yourself visit the Michigan Legal Aide Society web site...http://www.michiganlegalaid.org/...and then enter your ZIP-code in the "Find a lawyer, organization or related service to help..." text entry box and [Mouse-Left-Click] button to see a list of organizations near you.  Next call a few of those organizations and they should first help you find which organization is right for your case.Collections goes like this and you can use the court process to have more time to decide what to do...  1) Try to get you to pay with phone calls and letters,  this can go on for some time, sometimes a short time.2) When you can't or don't pay they sue you using different criteria which a lawyer or legal aid can best explain. 3) You are served by process server or mail or taping to your door.  If by server you have 21 days to "Answer" or 28 days if by mail.  Legal Aid has pre-formatted Answer sheets which they can guide you through, then just mail them according to the lawyer's instructions.  I think everyone should ask for a jury trial.4.) A pre-trial hearing will be scheduled.  Here in SE Michigan it was about 60 days could be more or less.  You must show up to avoid a summary judgment on the amount of the Claim.  Most times you will be told to step out of the courtroom to a discussion room by the Judge to attempt a resolution.  You need to ask a lawyer about how to "discuss" the issue with the collection company's lawyer.  You go back in front of the Judge where you will be asked some questions maybe or just state that this is not resolved and a trial date is set normally.  Again talk to the lawyer.5.) Before a trial there is a period of discovery where you can ask for documents and other information from the collection company.  This is more completely explained by the lawyer.  It is possible to slow thing here but the advising lawyer can help.Buckles and Buckles background info...Reference site: http://uslawyersdb.com/attorney595618Yahoo: http://local.yahoo.com/info-42645296-buckles- ... c-beverly-hillsRipoffReport: http://www.ripoffreport.com/collection-agency-s/buckles-and-buckles/buckles-and-buckles-garnishing-6ca8a.htm

Ok, time to settle down. You owe money, and so do lots of people. I know it's frustrating. These guys are hired to do a job, and recover money. You can't hate them for this. If you react calmly and like an adult, they are usually willing to work with you. If they don't want to make a deal with you, all you have to do is ignore them. If you don't have money, you don't have money..simple as.By the way, this is Buckles and Buckles, a collection agency for Discover Card.

Got a call from them.  No message.  I have NO idea who they are or what they want.  I owe nothing to anyone that would give rise to a call from a debt collector.
