can someone do something, keeping getting calls and noone is talking
Report by Annoyed Long ago Unknown
I have received the same call with the same issue as everyone above. Please, take a few moments to go to the national Do Not Call Registry and file a complaint if you are on the do not call list.  The more of us that do, the easier it will be for someone to file a complaint with their local law enforcement, and there will be a history of them harassing others. I try to take the time to do this whenever I get a phone call from this company with the multiple numbers they use.

I periodically get calls from this number, but have never answered.  According to Reverse Lookup, it's an unlisted number in Bridgeville, Delaware.  I am also on the National Do Not Call List and would like to get rid of these pests, but the only way to get more information is to pay for it.  Since it's unlisted, I am reluctant to pay and then find that I'm no wiser than before.  It seems like there must be a way to report things like this to the NDNC List, but I don't know what it is.

This is a scam at best.  I pushed the 1 button and they knew my name (even though I have had this number a short time).  They asked me if I would like to lower my credit card interest rate.  When I told the man that I did not own a credit card he hung up.  I called the number back and it is an non-working number.  My guess is they are trying to get people's personal info and then charge stuff on your card/in your name.
Report by louwasi Long ago Unknown
these calls keep coming to me also, but they are from different states, delaware, georgia, can't remember where the other one came from. also told them to quit caller and lose my number. I have a private number so I don't know how they got this.

On 5-6-11  got a call from this number and let them talk to the voice machine.  They said this is your last chance to get a good deal in fixing the rate on your credit cards.  The ironic thing is ------I don't have or do credit cards.   I HAVE TOLD THESE PEOPLE TO STOP---------THE WHISTLE NEXT TIME.

I wonder if the recent events of the hacking of PSN have anything to do with this.  They might have taken phone numbers that were included in the info supplied to PSN, because I just recieved a call from this number and I have absolutely no credit cards or anything of the sort. Theres no real way that they could've gotten my number anyway else.

Same experience as the others with this number. Caller ID states it is out of Bridgeville, DE. I asked the rep for the name of the company and she told it was "Account Services". I called her on that and asked her the 'real' name, and she put me back on hold. I am also on the "Do Not Call" list.I wish someone would find out who this company is!!!

this number has been calling for for days. I answered, pressed 1 and spoke to a gentleman who wanted to know if i wanted to lower the rates. I asked who he was and where he was from and he said they represent alll 551 card services in the usa. he said they are card member services representing all cred cards. i asked for further information and he kept telling me I seem confused. He said they dont pull a credit report but I was pre qualified - when I asked how I was pre qualified, he got very evasive and nasty. they wont send any email of information or via fax. they wouldnt answer some important questions and the guy got very defensive. When I asked to have my name removed - he berrated me for wasting his time bla bla bla

Oops... that should have read "to charge up front fees for help on unsecured debt."
Report by anonymous Long ago Unknown
THIS MAY BE A SCAM. As of 10/27/2010, it is *ILLEGAL* for companies to charge up front fees for unsecured debt like credit card debt http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/07/tsr.shtm that states "fees for debt relief services may not be collected until ... the debt relief service successfully renegotiates, settles, reduces, or otherwise changes the terms of at least one of the consumer’s debts." Reducing your interest rate on a credit card is changing-the-terms so if they want you to pay them up front, it's a SCAM.
Report by Don Don Long ago Unknown
This number calls me at least once per day wanting to lower interest in credit cards I don't have. When I press 1 to speak with someone the minute they answer the phone and I ask them to please take my phone number off their list, they hang up on me. You can't dial the number back because a recording comes on stating this is not a working number.

It's not just one job. It's a site that matches you jobs depending on your background. You type in your name and address and then they give you a number to call. The person then asks you what kinds of jobs you're looking for and enters that into the system. Then you can log in and see the jobs that match what you wanted. So instead of having to wade through all the jobs you only have to look at the ones that you are qualified for. Then you click the apply link and it opens the site for you to apply on. It's supposed to take a lot of teh work out of looking for a job.

Cell phones are different than other phones. They want to limit the amount of data sent to keep costs down so they don't send caller ID info. The number has to be in your address book to come up in caller ID.

I received a call about 2 weeks ago about this, and told them I would have a certified check if they would make all the arrangements to meet at the bank (Wells Fargo).  They returned my call today.  They had money waiting for me on a 2 place ticket from Red Rock Lottery and Casino in LasVegas.  ALL I had to do was to have a money pack reloaded paper scratch card from Walgrens or CVS, to the tune of .$500. and when they had that, they would deliver the money with me to Wells Fargo.  I notified FBI, and the local Sheriff department and they seem to be reluctant to come out here and be here when the man arrived.  They called my number about 20 times to assure I was going after the card.  But if Sheriff not here, what is the use, and I told him that Sheriff office advised a scam, unless you were willing to come to bank, and let the bank verify the check you were giving me, and give you a certified check for the 500 in return if all was bonafide.  No chance.  They were saying they would give my winnings to my charity.  I told him that would be about as cruel as what he was pulling,. His name was Mr. Miller.  He definitely had a Indian, or that region , very strong, and English so so.  Lots of mistakes in grammar.  I hope they catch these jerks.  I thought it was a fantastic chance to at least catch the delivery guy.

I just received on 28 June '12, a rather insistent phone call telling me I have won $3.5 million in the Mega Millions Gold Rush Claims Department. I first had to give him my cell # (I told him I didn't have one), and drive to the nearest CVS Pharmacy or Wal-Mart to purchase 5ea. $500 reloaded paper card money packs for a total of $2500 (which of course I did not do), ostensibly for paying the taxes on my "winnings." The guy's name in my case is Frank White, at 1-876-895-7271. I live in Maryland. Like yours, it was also from a private line. I tried to gather as much information from him as I could to pass on to the police financial crimes unit.

I just got one, from 876-287-3890, Mr Rogers with a heavy accent, perhaps Jamaican, who left a message for me to call him back urgently regarding a prize. I picked up mid-way, and asked for a Million dollars. He said he had $900k, if I just pay 1%. I told him it was hokey, and he said he'll just turn the cheque over, because I'm not interested. At first I thought is was an old friend crank calling me, but he sounded credible at times, if he did not have bogus explanation  for the sources, of 'credit and banking transactions, and after every transaction I make I get entered automatically.

I received a call today from a restricted number.  The person said, I won a raffle and will be receiving a check for my winnings.  It was hard to understand the caller so he passed me on to another person.  I again was informed I had won, but need to pay $300 to collect my check.  They asked if I wanted my winnings public or privately?  I did say private and they would only deliver to my house.  I then called the BBB and was given and number to Texas Attorney General to confirm the company.  I was informed of the scam and to not answer.  I still took the call after I googled the company Gold Rush Sweepstakes and told them, "no thank you!"  They never told me the amount that I won.

Did they want you to send money to a Mr, Spense in Jamaica? Also, has a party under the nameof James Jackson been soliciting you?     It is difficult to prosecute overseas operations from places like Jamaica and Nigeria since thecriminals are so elusive. Rumor has it that some are former police officers, so they know thetricks of the trade. Only the Secret Service can do investigations in these countries.    The only Gold Rush operations in Las Vegas are a jewelry design outfit and a casino. I hit youwhile doing my own search.    Best regards and good luck.    Ed

Guy names Charles Compton calls says I won a sweepstakes for $11,655,000.00 And it's imperative I call him As Soon As Possible to claim my "sweepstakes winnings"... Called the number, he said I won because I paid my utilities on or before the date due for the last 10 years...YEAH OKAY... So, I ask him where he's calling from, he says Washington State. To claim my prize I need to go to the closest Western Union and purchase 2 gold stamps for $511.00 and when they come to deliver the "certified check" I need to give them the stamps and the receipt...I told him I'd call back when I was at home and not at work. He was fine with that since he would be in the office til 10pm...When he answered the phone he said 'hello'...NO professional name of any company....DON'T BE SCAMMED BY THESE LOSERS!!!!! I came home and looked up the number first, which there were no results for...Then googled the Diamond Gold Rush Sweepstakes...These are all the letters I found...Glad I know someone in the FBI that I will surely report this to. I received a call from Mr Alex Cunningham (876-577-4267) of "Goldrush Sweepstakes" stating that I won 7.5 million dollars. He asked me several verification questions, such as was I under 65 years of age and did I do my own banking, and did I have two forms of US ID. He then informed me I would need three codes, Claim and Number code 0057, Company ID # 2751, and a ten digit code that would be supplied after I sent 300 dollars to Ceon Brissett at 12 Greenisland, Jamaica, WI. He asked what time I could do this, and I told him 11:00 the next day. This is a scam. When you receive a call like this, visit ftc.gov and file a complaint, providing as much information as you can. Sometimes the scammers use the US Mail as part of their scam. If so, visit the US Postal Service site DeliveringTrust.Com for more information. DON'T BE A VICTIM!!!

I would have taken it (kiddin) but unfortunately(for Gold sweeps ) he mentioned an incorrect address as mine.So I asked the telemarketer that I have a feeling that this is a scam and then he gave me a  number 214 915 7100 and said that the customer service is not available so call the number and press 1 and then the same guy will call me back. So after 5 mins this guy calls me back and asked if i have called to the number and I said the number din go thru but actually I din even try the number.I said I am not interested and then he hung the phone up

The next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it’s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that: 1.Legitimate sweepstakes don’t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize. If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it’s not a prize at all.http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel17.shtmPrize Offers: You Don’t Have to Pay to Play! Congratulations, it’s your lucky day! You’ve just won $5,000!You’re guaranteed to win a fabulous diamond ring, luxury vacation or all-terrain vehicle! If you receive a letter or phone call with a message like this, be skeptical. The $5,000 "prize" may cost you hundreds of dollars in taxes or service charges — and never arrive. Your "fabulous" prize may not be worth collecting. The diamond is likely to be the size of a pinhead. The "vacation" could be one night in a seedy motel, and the ATV, nothing more than a lounge chair on wheels!Scam artists often use the promise of a valuable prize or award to entice consumers to send money, buy overpriced products or services, or contribute to bogus charities. People who fall for their ploys may end up paying far more than their "prizes" are worth, if they get a prize at all. What these people are likely to get - especially if they signed up for a contest drawing at a public place or event — may be more than they bargained for: more promotions in the mail, more telemarketing calls and more unsolicited commercial email, or "spam." This is because many prize promoters sell the information they collect to advertisers. Worse yet, contest entrants might subject themselves to a bogus prize promotion scam. And The Winner Is... Everyone loves to be a winner. A recent research poll showed that more than half of all American adults entered sweepstakes within the past year. Most of these contests were run by reputable marketers and non-profit organizations to promote their products and services. Some lucky winners received millions of dollars or valuable prizes. Capitalizing on the popularity of these offers, some con artists disguise their schemes to look legitimate. And an alarming number of people take the bait. Every day, consumers throughout the United States lose thousands of dollars to unscrupulous prize promoters. During 1999 alone, the Federal Trade Commission received more than 10,000 complaints from consumers about gifts, sweepstakes and prize promotions. Many received telephone calls or postcards telling them they'd won a big prize - only to find out that to claim it, they had to buy something or pay as much as $10,000 in fees or other charges. There's a big difference between legitimate sweepstakes and fraudulent ones. Prizes in legitimate contests are awarded solely by chance, and contestants don't have to pay a fee or buy something to enter or increase their odds of winning. In fraudulent schemes, however, "winners" almost always have to dip into their pockets to enter a contest or collect their "prize."Skill Contests There's one notable exception: skill contests. These are puzzles, games or other contests in which prizes are awarded based on skill, knowledge or talent - not on chance. Contestants might be required to write a jingle, solve a puzzle or answer questions correctly to win.Unlike sweepstakes, skill contests may legally require contestants to buy something or make a payment or donation to enter. It's important to recognize that many consumers are deceptively lured into playing skill contests by easy initial questions or puzzles. Once they've sent their money and become "hooked," the questions get harder and the entry fees get steeper. Entrants in these contests rarely receive anything for their money and effort. Consumer Protections Several consumer laws help protect consumers against fraudulent sweepstakes and prize offers promoted through the mail or by phone. Telephone Solicitations Telemarketers frequently use sweepstakes and prize contests to sell magazines or other goods and services. These telemarketers make an initial contact with consumers through "cold calls," or take calls from consumers who are responding to a solicitation they received by mail. The Telemarketing Sales Rule helps protect consumers from fraudulent telemarketers who use prize promotions as a lure. In every telemarketing call involving a prize promotion, the law requires telemarketers to tell you:     the odds of winning a prize. If the odds can't be determined in advance, the promoter must tell you the factors used to calculate the odds.     that you don't have to pay a fee or buy something to win a prize or participate in the promotion.     if you ask, how to participate in the contest without buying or paying anything.     what you'll have to pay or the conditions you'll have to meet to receive or redeem a prize. The Telemarketing Sales Rule prohibits telemarketers from misrepresenting any of these facts, as well as the nature or value of the prizes. It also requires telemarketers who call you to pitch a prize promotion to tell you before they describe the prize that you don't have to buy or pay anything to enter or win.Written Solicitations Many sweepstakes promotions arrive by mail as a letter or postcard that instructs the consumer to respond by return mail or phone to enter a contest or collect a prize. The Deceptive Mail Prevention and Enforcement Act helps protect consumers against fraudulent sweepstakes promotions sent through the mail. The law prohibits:     claims that you're a winner unless you've actually won a prize.     requirements that you buy something to enter the contest or to receive future sweepstakes mailings.     the mailing of fake checks that don't clearly state that they are non-negotiable and have no cash value.     seals, names or terms that imply an affilia-tion with or endorsement by the federal government. Skill Contests Skill contests also are covered by the new Deceptive Mail Prevention and Enforcement Act. The law requires the sponsors to disclose in a clear and conspicuous way:     the terms, rules and conditions of the contest.     how many rounds of the contest you must achieve to win the grand prize.     the time frame for the winner to be determined.     the name of the contest's sponsor.     an address where you can reach the sponsor to request that your name be removed from the mailing list. Just Say "No" Another way to protect yourself is to request that your name be removed from mail and telephone solicitation lists. The Telemarketing Sales Rule requires telemarketers to keep a "do not call" list of consumers who have asked not to be called again. Calling a consumer who has made this request is illegal and can subject the telemarketer to a hefty fine. The Deceptive Mail Prevention and Enforcement Act requires companies that use direct mail to maintain a similar "do not mail" list for consumers who call or write and ask that their name be removed from the mailing list. This new law gives caregivers the right to have the names of the friends and loved ones under their care removed from the mailing lists of undesirable solicitors.Another way to reduce mail and telephone solicitations is to contact the Direct Marketing Association to request that your name be placed on its "do not call," "do not mail" and "do not email" lists. Association members agree not to solicit consumers who have requested that they not be contacted. To have your name removed from direct mail marketing lists, write: Direct Marketing Association, Preference Service Manager, 1120 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York 10036-6700. To have your name removed from telemarketing lists, write: Direct Marketing Association, Preference Service Manager, 1120 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York 10036-6700. To "opt out" of receiving unsolicited commercial email, use the DMA's form at www.e-mps.org.A Dozen Ways to Protect YourselfThe next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it’s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that: 1.    Legitimate sweepstakes don’t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize. If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it’s not a prize at all.2.    Sponsors of legitimate contests identify themselves prominently; fraudulent promoters are more likely to downplay their identities. Legitimate promoters also provide you with an address or toll-free phone numbers so you can ask that your name be removed from their mailing list.3.    Bona fide offers clearly disclose the terms and conditions of the promotion in plain English, including rules, entry procedures, and usually, the odds of winning.4.    It’s highly unlikely that you’ve won a "big" prize if your notification was mailed by bulk rate. Check the postmark on the envelope or postcard. Also be suspicious of telemarketers who say you’ve won a contest you can’t remember entering.5.    Fraudulent promoters might instruct you to send a check or money order by overnight delivery or courier to enter a contest or claim your "prize." This is a favorite ploy for con artists because it lets them take your money fast, before you realize you’ve been cheated.6.    Disreputable companies sometimes use a variation of an official or nationally recognized name to give you confidence in their offers. Don’t be deceived by these "look-alikes." It’s illegal for a promoter to misrepresent an affiliation with — or an endorsement by — a government agency or other well-known organization.7.    It’s important to read any written solicitation you receive carefully. Pay particularly close attention to the fine print. Remember the old adage that "the devil is in the details."8.    Agreeing to attend a sales meeting just to win an "expensive" prize is likely to subject you to a high-pressure sales pitch.9.    Signing up for a sweepstakes at a public location or event, through a publication or online might subject you to unscrupulous prize promotion tactics. You also might run the risk of having your personal information sold or shared with other marketers who later deluge you with offers and advertising.10.    Some contest promoters use a toll-free "800" number that directs you to dial a pay-per-call "900" number. Charges for calls to "900" numbers may be very high.11.    Disclosing your checking account or credit card account number over the phone in response to a sweepstakes promotion — or for any reason other than to buy the product or service being sold — is a sure-fire way to get scammed in the future.12.    Your local Better Business Bureau and your state or local consumer protection office can help you check out a sweepstakes promoter’s reputation. Be aware, however, that many questionable prize promotion companies don’t stay in one place long enough to establish a track record, and the absence of complaints doesn’t necessarily mean the offer is legitimate. To File a ComplaintConsumers who believe they have been victimized by fraudulent promotional offers also should contact their local postmaster or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service by phone, toll-free, at: 1-888-877-7644; by email at: www.uspsoig.gov; or by mail at: U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Office of Inspector General, Operations Support Group, 222 S. I got the same call yesterday from 1-876-448-3898.  The man's accent was so strong I couldn't understand half of what he said.  But the gist of it was how happy he was to notify me that I had won $476.000 but I think I got cheated because like all of you I wasn't offered a car.  LOL  One thing I'm sure of, is anytime someone offers you something free, it's going to cost you.  What I would like to know  is how they get name, address and other information  when they are in another country.  I think anytime you buy something from a catalog etc. etc. they sell your info.  Anyway the UPS truck was going to deliver my check as soon as I went to Walmart or Walgreen's however he didn't say how much I had to pay for it.  It had to be a green dot card though, and it was important to have it  for the UPS driver in order to identify me as the correct winner.  I told him I had an ID.  How stupid was that idea.  I think he was in training.  At least he didn't threaten to put a bullet in my head like one of the comments I read.

When you are scammed by sweepstakes, it makes you feel stupid.  Stupid I am not, but just too trusting.  Something has to be done to these people taking advantage of those of us finding our income decline and telling us they are giving us an award (which they never plan doing).Somehow, these people need to be tracked down and pay for their misdeeds of taking money from people that can't afford.  GOLD RUSH INTERNATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES cannot be trusted and don't give awards. If anyone has knowledge in how to get to these people and this group, please send me an e-mail.willadmiller@msn.com   or  willa_miller@yahoo.com

Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in a long time... thank goodness!  Omar Black !  He used to call me ALL the time, sometimes several times a day, leave messages if I was at work and couldn't answer. I don't remember what his story was, just that he always wanted MONEY.  But... I never had any. Too bad, so sad !   I did hear, fairly recently, within the last month I think (which would be since 2013 began) that he had been arrested and was in prison somewhere!  Couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow!  (Of course, there are plenty of OTHER deserving blokes out there as well!  Even a few women scammers.)

We have been bothered day after day by a guy claiming he is Omar Black. We have won like $87,000.00 and a Mercedes from an international sweepstakes. This guy won't give up and he called in one day like 14 times.  He gave us his acct. # and said that he would pay the $450 for taxes and we could pay him back. The number came up JM Kingston, 876-355-3264. I am so glad that I got into this site and found someone else who got this call too, so we wouldn't go through with giving him money on our card. She said all I had to do was run to walmart and buy a green dot card and place $201.00 on it for government taxes and my prize would be delivered within the next hour. I asked could they just take the money out of my winnings, she said no. She also tried to use my trust in God to believe that this was a blessing. She constantly repeated that this was not a scam. My mom took the phone and asked if she could use her master card (she knew she could trace it) and the lady said no, only green dot cards (which can't be traced). She kept calling back until my mom put her in her place. THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED.!!!!!

I asked what winnings? He replied saying something about a Walmart Mega Winnings. I told him I nevered entered into any sweepstakes,he tried convincing me that I did! So we went on with the conversation & he had explained that I would need to purchase a Walmart Reloadable card for $350.00,when I told him that I didn't trust that,he tried to throw my trust in God in my face. I told him I would need to get my sister & her HUSBAND to take me to Walmart, due to lack of transportation. He asked that I not discuss this with them nor employees @ Walmart! When he said that,I knew that this was a SCAM..he almost had me because he caught me off guard,I still had sleep in my eyes! So that's when I took it upon myself to GOOGLE this sweepstakes & I'm glad I have my answer! Its sad how people try to get over on other people!

I told him that I felt this was a scam and he tried his best to convine me otherwise. I could hear someone in the background coaching him. I asked him if he was in training he said he has worked there for 3 yrs. He even had someone call back and use somekind of machine to change there voice. Tonight I received a very disturbing phone call from Sunrise Credit Services in regards to a delinquent cablevision account. It is not the purpose of the call that was disturbing, but the manner in which the representative spoke to me and then hung up. In a nut shell, I explained to her that I was currently unemployed, like many people during this time, and that was why I was unable to pay the bill. The representative, 'Michelle" says to me: "is that gonna be ur excuse for the rest of your life?" And when I said excuse me, she then said, "did I stutter? You heard me." And hung up the phone.I was devastated, insulted and down right furious. That is what lead me to my search for the number. If it is an attempt to collect a debt, then do so. What's with the name calling? Thanks to this website, I was able to contact the company, speak to a supervisor, and file a formal complaint.

We normally get 10 calls a call and the call ID says Unknown, I picked up a few times and noone is ever there.  Well tonight 631-270-3516 came through the caller id on a half of a ring.  The phone rang again immediately and it said Unknown so I am assuming these 10 calls a day I get are from this new number and the caller Id says Farmingdl,NY

I got a call from them this morning. I didn't answer because caller ID said "anonymous".  I would never answer a call with "anonymous" as caller ID. My phone offers a "block caller list".  It works quite well, so they just got added to the list.

I am glad I looked this up. I did not answer...oh...and I don't have a husband, so I guess they wouldn't want to deal with me anyway.

Phone rang from this number again today.  This time, the phone went "click" when I said hello.  STOP CALLING US!!  We are on the Do Not Call List, which obviously is not enforced.  I know you are looking for my husband, but he is rarely home, and I answer ALL the calls and make ALL the decisions here.  If you do not stop calling us at our 410-515 home phone, I will do whatever it takes through the proper authorities to stop you.  We do not want your calls, or any other, and would do NO BUSINESS with a telephone solicitor!

I answered phone, and male voice asked to speak to my husband.  This caller knew my husband's name.  I told caller he was not home, and asked who was calling.  Caller stated he was "Don Johnson"and abruptly hung up.  I called the number on caller I.D. and received recorded message that mailbox was full, and no message could be left.  We are on the Do Not Call List, and are particularly fed up with anonymous and irritating calls from California, which we receive too many of.  We would do NO business with anyone who calls from there!

Got a call from this number, I live in WA and I picked up. I stayed on the line for 5 seconds and heard a machine recording say, "Goodbye". Then nothing.... Irritating

This number calls and never leaves a message. 213 is a California area code. Caller ID info says "unavailable". My policy is to not answer if I don't recognize the number, if they don't leave a message then it must not be important.

"this is an important message from card member services" yada yada yada. It is a spoofed call from Manitoba Canada ---in other words it is coming from somewhere else but they want you to think it is from Manitoba. When I saw the number I should have known immediately .... well, what are the odds of getting a number like 359-3559? Have those jerks no imagination at all? Besides doesn't almost the whole world know about how phoney "card member services" is. Based on what you know about credit card companies (for eg. if you pay off a credit card bill of $800 by only paying the minimum every month, it will take you a mere 26 years to do it!!! And who do you think is going to profit?) --- So, if there is any money to be made, the credit card companies will not give the opportunity to any other company (like "card member services"). One other gripe from me ..;.. when you submit one of these reports on a phone number, there is a pull-down window for 'call type'. I think calling this company "telmarketers" is a slap in the face to real telemarketers (not that I'm fond of them). Shouldn't there be another category - like thieves, destroyers of honest hard working people, slime of the earth, bottom feeders - something more appropriate

no answer when I said hello ,,,,if you pick up and say hello only once and get no reply then its a crank caller who uses an audible indicator (more than one word) before they route the call to a real person to bug you.Say hello once...or say "eh" if your canadian and then if no answer, hang up and block the number

The best bet is to call the Fraud Hotline of the Florida Attorney General's office to report this:http://myfloridalegal.com/Florida Toll-free Fraud Hotline:1-866-966-7226A lot of these frauds originate with a group of scumbags known as the Summer Bay Parntership, which already is being investigated by the Florida Attorney General's Economic Crime Units.  After trying to scam people with fraudulent "Free Vacation" packages or timeshare resale frauds, these same people often start receiving calls for other garbage such as this "credit review."  The numbers are often bogus, but they call come from Florida call centers.

Calller at 15:56 PDT left a partial voice-mail:  ... the final courtesy call before we close the file on your annual credit card account reviewYeah, right.  My credit-card company has _never_ done a "review".Scammer falsifying their caller-ID information.

Yet one more fast-talking scammer from (I should have guessed it) Florida. Of course, trying to hide the origin of the call by routing it through Manitoba, area code 204.Claims the company is called "Consumer Debt Advocate" and they can wipe out credit card debt.I told him he must be mistake to call me. I was born in 1949, not yesterday.Such a**holes.
